I’m looking for souvenir and out of time to shop online. Any suggestion?

We will be traveling to WDW for the very first time with our 3 children this July, ages 8, 4 and 1 month (approximately). I have a few questions-

1) Which park(s) do you recommend most? Def doing Magic Kingdom. Probably Animal Kingdom. Will this age enjoy Epcot also?

2) Traveling with a newborn- Will the park allow our travel system? Should we also bring a sling/bjorn/carrier of some sort?

3) Diaper bag/extras- What do you recommend? (Necessities are obvious- i.e. diapers, sunscreen, snacks, etc but do we need things like band aids?)

4) Should we bring an umbrella stroller for the 4-year-old? He never rides in one anymore, but I worry he will get tired!

5) Best rides/foods/snacks/souvenirs/shows?

6) Pins/lanyards/autograph books/etc? Should we bring these? Purchase there? Skip them?

7) Fun ideas for things to have delivered to our hotel room in advance? (I know they won’t predeliver, but plan to slip items to the desk clerk at check-in)

Easter baskets- we’re doing Disney themed baskets to announce to the kids where we’re going. Any fun suggestions on items to include? (Can be just for fun or for use on our trip)

I’ve heard that WDW can be an overwhelming place and am a bit nervous about traveling so shortly after I deliver the new baby. Your help/tips/advice are MUCH appreciated!!!!!!!!
NOTE: We will be in Orlando for 8 days/7 nights. The first and last day of our trip will largely be travel-related, I imagine. Have not purchased WDW tix yet. Considering 3-5 days…. open to suggestions. We are not staying in an "official" disney resort, but "disney-authorized/affiliated" (whatever that means). Basically, walking distance from downtown disney, character breakfasts on-site, and shuttles every 1/2 hour. We will have a rental car for the entire trip, so we are not at all opposed to driving there or going out for food. Fridge in the room so we will be able to freeze water bottles, make some light sandwiches, etc. Kids eat free with a paying adult at our resort for breakfast and dinner. Let me know if any other details would be helpful!!!

1. The two you picked are going to thrill the kids, YOU would love Epcot, them not so much.
2.You can bring your own stroller, or rent them there $20 per day. (bring your own) : )
3.Only bring what you need, they have first aid everywhere in the parks. But the beauty of the stoller is storage!
4.Bring the stoller, extra storage. If your pushing 1, might as well push 2. The 4 yr old WILL be tired!
5.They will love it all at Magic Kingdom. Small World is a classic relaxing ride. They have a character breakfast..DO IT!!!
6.Bring them. EVERYTHING at the parks is 3 times the normal price. Before you go to the park, visit ANY gift store on
International Drive, or in the vicinity of Disney and they will have all the Tshits, towels, hats, autograph books, pens,
everything you need at a fraction of the cost!
7.Have an edible arrangement sent. Great treat, and they have cute Easter arrangements!
8.How fun, 1st thing that popped in my mind is, bake Mickey Ear shaped cookies OR Disney will send you a free planning
DVD, you should get that and pop it on Easter Morning, lol. Cute!

WDW is huge and it can be overwhelimg. There is a lot to see, but for the ages you have I would get a 4 day pass, go to magic kingdom 2 days and then animal kingdom. The kids are going to be happiest at Magic Kingdom. Since you have a car your options for dinner and entertainent will be open. My advice is dont try to see it all, you will wear yourself out. There is toooo much to see and do. I hope you have a blast, hope this helps!

My fiance and I are getting married on August (2009) and we are on a tight budget.

We only have 200k in Philippine Peso to spend on everything - the church, the reception (150 guests), my gown, invitations, souvenirs etc.

Would it be too much to ask the Matron of Honor, Best Man and other secondary sponsors that they pay for their clothes?

In the US the wedding party generally pays for their own clothing. If you do that, try to be courteous and choose things (especially dresses for the Bridesmaids) that can be worn again.

I just bought two baby turtles when i was in Panama City Beach, Florida at one of the little souvenir shops. The guy that I bought them off of wasn’t too helpful with how I should take care of them. He just said to feed them once a day. Neither one of them has been eating at all.

I need to know how I can get them to eat and how to properly take care of them. Also, I have been trying to figure out what species they are and I am having some trouble with that.

If it hadn’t been Florida, I would have been sure that you had red-eared sliders. They might be yellow-bellied sliders, though. YBS have black spots on just the front half of the lower shell. The care is much the same. Go to a pet shop and buy the book by De Vosjoli on care of RES and other aquatic turtles. It’s cheap and the best I have seen.

Chances are that you will be able to ID your turtle by using the Conant/Collind field guide to reptiles & amphibians of eastern. N. Amer.

Don’t worry if they go for a couple of weeks without eating. If they go longer, slip some small earthworms into the water.

Herm…OK so first I dont want anyone calling me stupid, saying that i’m going to ruin my life, judging etc because without wanting to brag I know I’m pretty intelligent and I know that 1 conscious guy equals 2 (I don’t know if that means something to y’all but I tried to translate the French expression "Un homme averti en vaux deux" that means, grosso modo, that someone who’s aware of the risks of a situation will be more able to prevent and/or get out of it).

So just to make you understand the thing I’ll put in situation…
So I’m an ex-stoner, started blazing in 2004 or 5, started being everyday since December 2006 to May 2007 (Don’t know exactly when but it’s during that time I started increasing the frequency and the dose)…Oh and just to make you understand let’s say the everyday means like 26 days on 31 just so you can see I’ve always been able to skip some days. And since the time I’ve been smoking in many different situation (w. friends, in family, at school etc) I know my highs, and I know I am not the kind to not give a …. about school when I’m high (I’m still in Secondary 4/ 10th grade), in fact I’m even more focused, participating and hungry to learn when I smoke at school (most of the time). I’ve quit smoking since end-Sept. begining-Oct. Quit totally since christmas (Maybe I’ve been smoking like 6-7 times at school from October to December when people gave me some) Last thing I’ve smoked was just Spice when coming back from Holidays to try it with my homie.

Ok so now let’s get to the real thing, so yesterday a friend of mine did some speed before our art class, so I saw how he was talking non-stop and talking about anything and I found it funny and got me some souvenirs from when I was a stoner and sometime doing pills, so I’m like, hey you wanna do some more tomorrow? So he tells me he got it for 5$…I get him the cash today, we take it during the day and, normally I’m a pretty shy guy, minding my own buisness, the kind of guy that will be sociable with his friends, with the ones I know from a long time and with unknown only if YOU come at me (because of drugs…how ironic?)…You see the kind? I’m also pretty passive…always tired and all, but today I was really speaking to anybody I know even just a little, really coming up to people, starting to talk for a long time and being really interpersonal…And it’s been a long time since I haven’t been like that without faking it. And I got some pounds that I don’t need but I HATE training…I do skate, snow, ski, bike and walking…It’s pretty much the only sports I do (running back in the days but eh, I don’t have to now). And I know that with speed you literally MELT.

So I’m aware of the dangers of becoming addict and ruining my life/health…But I wanna do a kind of social experience, a kind of Super Size/High Me (without the cameras, the medical test and all that). But just to know, I want to try popping pills pretty much 4 days a week (don’t want to do it with my GF that I see only on weekends) for about one or two months, some of you will find me stupid/crazy but eh, with that I know I’m more sociable, I know I could lose the fat my GF always wanted me to lose, aaannnddd YESS I am conscious of the risks of addictions but I’m a wise guy and I’m pretty much sure I’ll be able to make "Ok, now, I’m gone too far" if it’s the case, if I look like a fiends and think I need it to live I got friends that knows my project that will open my eyes if I can’t do it myself.

But there is one problem…every GUY that already did chemical drugs (any kind) knows what I’m talking about…Yeaahhhh…the feelin’ lil’ in yo shorts problems, the kind of problem that could lead you to name yourself Lil’ Dick if you were a US rapper…And that made me taught (think at the past, sorry, don’t know how to write it right) of another problem. So I’m with my GF for a little more than a year and before that she was my best friend so i totally trust her, she was virgin before me and me I always put condoms before so we trust each other enough to do it without protection, I always take care of not cumming in her but we never know. For exemple, we’re doing it for let’s say the 3rd time in a row, I don’t really feel it cumming on time…She gets pregnant (that is not the problem we’re both OK with that). Is there a risk for the baby of being mentally ill because of the drugs in my system (read sperm)? You know, a girls that does drugs during her pregnancy have risks of a ill baby…is it the same thing if there is traces of drugs in the sperm?

And if yes, for how much time does the drugs stays in your body? I’ve already heard that it could take a month or so…so let’s say after my one or two months of taking it regularly, if I get her pregnant two weeks after that is it still dangerous? So for how much time is it dangerous for the baby?

Best that you contact Chicago and get that sort of info, not through a site. Another thought would be to direct your question to authors who base their book in Chicago, like Jim Butcher.

I used to live around there, but I left when I was 3 yrs old to America. I visited there several times before, so I know where some things are. I’m just wondering though, because this is really one of the first times I have bought something for anyone back in America. I also want to do something with my heritage, so… yeah. I don’t know though. Otherwise, I’ll just prolly go to Gaisano or the SM mall. Any suggestions?

I would greatly suggest that you take pictures and post in on the web.. That way you have contributed indirectly to advertisement of tourism in the country and it is not expensive, as well.

But then if you really would push thru with souvenirs and things, I suggest some paintings and the big wooden spoon and fork that you can hang at your dining place. hehe! Also, you can buy some blings and local ornaments or handicrafts.

i arrive from ireland in boston on sunday 21st march, all our travel, ski passes, lessons, boots etc. are paid for along with breakfast and lunch
so i basically need just a bit for some lunch and some souvenirs and clothes on the way back in Boston city.

I’d plan on $50 to $100 US dollars per day. If your over 21 and want to drink alcohol, not less than a $100/day. I’d plan on $20/meal you need to pay for, not including alcohol.

If your going to stay in North Conway, NH there are a lot of outlet shops there, which have great prices on cloths. Also there is no tax in NH, so you be inclined to stock up.
